Boss Training is doing everything we can to ensure our clients don’t miss out on vital training courses by launching a virtual classroom.
We took the decision to make some of our key courses available via video conferencing to help clients keep up with industry requirements as the nationwide lockdown continues. By offering health and safety training online, firms will be able to hit the ground running and bypass any future backlog once the country returns to work.
The new-style courses are provided via online video calls, which enable the fully qualified trainers and the delegates to see and hear each other. The trainers present the course content in the same way as in a classroom or the workplace. Meanwhile delegates can ask questions – and receive answers – during the course to ensure they receive the same level of education they would in person.
Boss Training’s Head of E-learning, Ben Blacker, said it was important that firms were ready to get back to work when the lockdown is eased. The government’s Coronavirus Job Retention Scheme, which covers wages for employees on temporary or furlough leave, permits staff to take part in training.
Ben said: “There’s still the need for training, so when everything starts to get up and running again firms are going to have a backlog of people who aren’t trained up. By using these courses, they can ensure their staff are up to date.
“The video conferencing is a good alternative because it provides the classroom interaction that delegates have on our face-to-face courses.”
The video conferencing schedule include Boss Training’s own in-house manual handling courses, safe working at height and a foundation course in health and safety.
UKATA (UK Asbestos Training Association) courses on offer are asbestos awareness, a refresher for non-licensed removal and a duty to manage course for those required to oversee others working with asbestos. A CITB (Construction Industry Training Board) course, which provides a nationally recognised certificate, is also available via video conferencing.
The new-style video conferencing is offered alongside Boss Training’s established programme of online courses which are carried out by delegates virtually and at a time convenient to them.
