CITB stands for the Construction Industry Training Board, which oversees training courses and programmes for the construction industry throughout England, Wales and Scotland. Boss Training is a CITB Approved Training Organisation (ATO) who delivers accredited courses and training to numerous people and businesses throughout the construction industry.

CITB courses are widely accepted as the standard health and safety training scheme for the construction and civil engineering industry. Boss Training offers three distinct CITB training courses: SMSTS Courses, SSSTS Courses, the CITB Health & Safety Awareness Training, as well as SSSTS refresher and SMSTS refresher Courses. CITB courses are a brilliant method of ensuring your workforce is skilled and compliant with health and safety standards.

 

Who needs to attend a citb course?

Health and Safety awareness COURSES

Anyone employed in the construction or civil engineering industry should attend CITB Health and Safety Awareness Training, as it looks at the fundamental occupational health and safety knowledge that’s required from anyone working in these industries. The health and safety awareness training course lasts a full working day.

Not only can you feel sure, as an employer or a business owner, that your workers are compliant with the best health and safety standards, you can feel rest assured that they have been through the necessary training to keep themselves safe and that they themselves should feel confident whilst at work.

SSSTS COURSES

Or Site Supervisor Safety Training Scheme, looks at the fundamental health and safety knowledge required from site supervisors, including the relevant legislation and its compliance; the occupational risks of working at height, with electricity, in demolition and excavations; as well as accident prevention and the role of a supervisor. This CITB course takes place over two working days.

SMSTS COURSES

Or Site Manager Safety Training, include all the elements of the SSSTS programme as well as site and plant management. This construction site management course is regarded as one of the best courses that the industry has to offer, with 10,000 delegates attending the course annually. It takes place over the course of five days and is ideal for anyone who is set to be employed as a site manager for a construction related business.

SSSTS and SMSTS qualifications are valid for 5 years, so for those already holding a certificate but approaching the 5-year mark, we offer refresher courses. Please note that the refresher course is only available prior to the certificate expiring, otherwise, the whole training programme is required in order to requalify.
